Hello, my name is Gina and I’m a lifelong resident of what the locals call the mitten state, or better known as Michigan! It rightfully earns the title of mitten state, as our winters are long and our summers short! I’m married to a wonderful man who works harder then any man should have to, and we just celebrated 25 years of marriage last fall. It’s my second marriage, and his first. I have a beautiful 30 year old daughter that he fully committed to help me raise as his own from the time she was 4 years old. I experienced secondary infertility, so we were unable to have another child together. However, we are beyond excited that we are FINALLY new grandparents to a baby girl who decided she wanted to be just like her Papa and have a holiday for her birthday, and made an early appearance on Halloween! My daughter is yet unmarried, but has a wonderful partner, whom we love and is going to be a great Daddy! It’s ok, their generation does things in a different order then ours. I’m currently in my early 50’s and have had some health issues that started when I was 20 years old, that in hindsight definitely affected my life’s path. It’s been 3 decades of working on my health and wellness, and I’ve learned so much that I’m always willing to share of what worked well for me, and what didn’t. My other life’s challenge was raising a child with dyslexia to become a well balanced, healthy and compassionate adult who contributes to society, although very challenging, I’m happy that she’s happy and doing really well!
My husband still works the same career he’s been in for over 30 years, which he’s ready to be done with. Due to my health issues, and raising a child with a learning difference, my jobs have been a bit sporadic over the years. But it was always health care related office work. I quit my day job 5 years ago, and spent a few years working solely on getting healthy. Then 2 1/2 years ago, my husband and I started a side business that takes up a lot of our time now.
My most favorite pastime is reading! It started in childhood and has never waned. I walk for exercise and enjoy hiking with my husband. He’s into photography and I’ll walk anywhere with him so he can take pictures. I enjoy growing a vegetable garden and canning the produce. I’m a pretty good cook and a decent baker. Before starting our business 2 1/2 years ago, I didn’t buy a loaf of bread for almost 3 years. I can be crafty at times, but I’ve never stuck with anything for too long, I think always due to lack of time. But I’ve dabbled in flower arranging, cross stitch, crochet, sewing, and more recently scrapbooking.
I’m excited to be able to share with my readers, stories, thoughts, ideas and my hindsight of what I’ve learned along the journey of this thing we call life!
